Thank you to Legg Mason, Presenting Sponsor!

July 6th, 2017

Legg Mason – a global asset management leader headquartered in Baltimore – has supported Paul’s Place’s mission and programs for more than a decade with financial support and essential volunteer involvement and leadership. The company’s commitment was already an example of an authentic corporate/non-profit partnership, and this year, Legg Mason increased its support on both fronts: Legg Mason was one of three Presenting Sponsors for the Paul’s Place Benefit Breakfasts on May 1 and 2, and Joseph Sullivan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, chaired the events. Thank you!

Already a strong supporter of Paul’s Place, Legg Mason has grown its volunteer and financial support under the leadership of Joe Sullivan and Patty Lattin, Head of Global Human Resources and President of our board of directors. Legg Mason employees volunteer quarterly to serve hot lunch, sort donated clothing, act as personal shoppers for our marketplace, and set up our holiday gift shop – and employees serve in leadership roles on committees and our board of directors. Legg Mason has supported Paul’s Place for more than a decade with unrestricted grants and sponsorships and, this year, more than tripled its financial investment in our mission.

Joe Sullivan lives the Legg Mason mantra: Investing to Improve Lives. Joe is committed to improving education and the quality of life for Baltimore residents through board service and his chairmanship of the 2017 Paul’s Place Benefit Breakfasts. He and his wife made an early and generous contribution to kick off the fundraising success of this event. He organized a company volunteer day to introduce 11 of Legg Mason’s top leaders from around the country to Paul’s Place. He secured a presenting sponsorship from his own firm and asked other Baltimore-area companies and corporate leaders to join him in supporting Paul’s Place.

On Legg Mason’s commitment to supporting Paul’s Place, Joe states “I and my Legg Mason colleagues have spent time volunteering and I can tell you that experiencing the work being done up close is truly life changing. While the challenges are real and while the problems are serious, there is hope and there are opportunities to succeed. Paul’s Place inspires that confidence and that optimism.”

Paul’s Place is grateful to Legg Mason for all the ways the company and its employees support our work. Thank you!
